π§ Update Regarding Access to Drayton Surgery via Binney Road πΆββοΈπͺ
We have received several enquiries concerning pedestrian access to Drayton Surgery through the gate located on Binney Road. Following a thorough review, including close monitoring of activity within the car park and a comprehensive risk assessment, we have made the decision not to open this gate for routine access to the surgery.
This decision has been made for the following reasons:
1. Safety Concerns: Our risk assessment has identified several safety risks for patients and visitors to both Drayton Surgery and Drayton Pharmacy. In particular, we are concerned about the increased pedestrian traffic through the car park, which could pose significant safety issuesβespecially during darker, winter months. These risks would be difficult to adequately mitigate.
2. Alternative Route Available: Since the original extension plans were submitted, a new footpath has been constructed from Binney Road to the corner of School Road and Hall Road. This well-lit and safer route adds only approximately 3β5 minutes to the journey and provides a more suitable alternative for pedestrian access.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all visitors to Drayton Surgery.
